The jacket needs to be worn with something much more casual or else it will always look like an ice cream man uniform.

Is that a universal statement about white jeans, or do you think they would be bad with the jacket in question? I thought about pink, but that might be going overboard. I don't like to call attention to myself.

I think white pants with that jacket would be Bad. But now that you mention it, I don't like white jeans. They have a Flashdance vibe to me. That, however, was not the reason for my objection to your suggestion in this context.

Summer or light cream white flannel, brushed cotton, or gab would look good.

One eye-catching item per ensemble, hence no pink.

FWIW, I don't hate the khaki with that coat.
