Waterproof/winter shoes discussion

It's winter in the city. I only wear a few types of shoes to work: chucks, dress shoes or boat shoes.

Obviously I'll be putting the boat shoes away, and I'm not buying waterproof dress shoes of any kind, so what are some good waterproof/winterproof options for snow, slush, rain, and all the other disgusting **** on the streets of Manhattan?

I've seen the Varvatos Rubberized Chucks but I'm skeptical as to their effectiveness; also, it seems a bit corny.
