That is bad. Why don't the auction companies police that? They are so into higher prices that they allow their auctions to be compromised?
I haven't looke at the catalog, but this is some exaggerated math, I think. If the average price is $50k, then 700 watches would be worth $35 million and $70 million at $100k average cost (and I think you'd be very hard pressed to find 700 different watches valued anywhere close to $100k). Either way, it's a huge sum but not hundreds of millions.

The collusion is good for the auction houses as well since it drives up the overall market for watches.
