These are some of the watches in the display window of the Patek Philippe store in Geneva. The place is like a fortress. Two front doors, each of which had to be opened by a guard, a guard on the ground floor and another watching from above, and a room in the back filled with monitors.

Thanks for the pictures. Patek should stick to understated bling.

Regards.

The only ones I like are the plain, hobnail Calatravas; even then, it's obvious they are victims of unnatural case enlarging. The rest are unwearable.

I would love a relatively fresh PP with a 27-460 inside. There's one locally that I've been eyeing.

The PP boutique in Geneva is great, but the museum is Amazing! PP 5919 in rose gold is my favorite.

Frankly, I think most of those are awful: How to screw up a Calatrava.

I had a wonderful Patty I picked up at an antique auction about 25 years ago for $85. It was 1940s stainless, square, Breguet numerals, blued hands on a white dial, simple and elegant. It actually came on a Rolex steel bracelet that attracted some attention at the auction, but only one other guy was on it, and he waved me on when he saw it was I bidding. I proceeded to pop the bracelet off as I sat there and then on the way home, dropped it off at my jeweler who at the time, sold them.

Kept it for years until financial troubles caught up, and sold it at a hefty profit (From $85, a CLA and a lizard strap, I didn't have to strain too hard...;->)

Never been in the Geneve boutique, but remember its discrete little windows with particular baubles beautifully displayed; like Two Fannies.

But I'll take a bye on all thoses, except maybe that retro rectangular...just for old times' sake.

Pls don't tarnish the good Patek name with that bejeweled stuff. kthxbai.
