Watches - Is it tacky to attach a high end deployant buckle to a low end watch?

I'd generally stick to matching a watch to deployant when possible, but knock yourself out, I don't think it would be tacky necessarily.

it would look quiet strange and out of place so I wouldn't recomend it.

Do you have a picture of the watch you want to add it to?

I am not sure anyone notices the deployment. I added one to my old seamaster (I kept dropping it in the morning when putting it on) and you can't tell at all.

Isn't an 18k patek deployment buckle worth more than an old seamaster?

A Patek deployment would set you back about the price of a submariner so I'd probably just buy a nice watch and forget the overpriced deployment buckle.

Only thing that would make me care is the appearance of a logo. Otherwise, do it.

Whats next, $10,000 20" spinners on a $500 1989 Honda CRX with different colored body panels?

+1 on KBW's comment. Why not just buy a Patek?

Only suggestions, its your money, spend it however you like...

can we get a pic of this deployment everyone is talking about? if it is somthing like this:http://www.thewatchprince.com/core/m...f0355787a08045 then i don't see what the big deal is if it is functional and aesthetically pleasing. as far as the logo is concerned, i wouldnt worry about it too much (i am assuming you can buy these generically?) unless it is blatantly obvious and guady. here is a good axample of a basic seiko, with lizard band and butterfly clasp which is well done imo.
