Watch Strap from eBay Seller X-jewelry?

I am looking for a new strap for my watch. I am thinking crocodile, but can't decide on anything more. I could try to find a replacement strap from the manufacturer, or special order one from a local craftsman.

I came across these on eBay. The price is right....Does anyone have any experience with this seller or comments on the wares? Too good to be true?

It seems it's only for Patek watches, rather than made or contracted by Patek.

Thanks for your comment, LK. Of course, you are right. The straps are not made by Patek or to Patek standards, but are usable with Patek watches (or any other watch they might fit, for that matter).

I know I want a new strap. I just can't decide whether to go for a $20 one from eBay or the drugstore, or with a higher priced one. I was considering ordering a strap from Camille Fournet. The 3 month wait time, and the price, are causing me to reconsider.

Another option would be www.abp-paris.com. I don't know the wait-time for a strap but their wares are quality.

Not a bad price, considering a genuine PP strap will run you $250-$800+ depending on materials.

Here's an online source I used for several watchbands. Not quite the quality of some of the earlier suggestions, but a terrific selection. I needed a shorter-than-usual band, and they came through with a number of selections.

deBeer makes a decent strap. I use them on many of my watches. They're available at discount on 47th street(NYC).

$25 shipped for a genuine alligator strap? sounds too good to be true or the hide must be really crappy. I second the CF and ABP recommendations - this is the way to go if you want a top quality MTM/MTO strap

If you peruse the other offerings in the store it becomes clear that it's embossed leather.

Thank you for the comments. The seller plays fast and lose on two counts then. The seller implies that (1) the straps are made by Patek or at Patek's instruction, and (2) that the straps are embossed calf, rather than the exotic skin they first appear to be.

That is enough for me to stay away.
