Which watch to get?
My graduation is coming and my dad said I can chose whichever watch I want as a gift. Give me some suggestions...it should be an alrounder watch, but no omega or rolex (because everybody seems to have them)
steel or leather, does not matter.

kind regards

Well, there are just so many choices and it depends on your taste. If you can spend $10,000 or so, you could get a Panerai or one of the new Zenith models...really nice. But there are many many more choices...Breguet, Blancpain, Patek, IWC, and much more etc. You should first go onto a good watch site and see what you like...

I do like the look of the panerai radiomir, but i would prefer to have a date on there. the audemars piguet royal oak looks very nice, too. (the one with the rubber bracelet and the one on the steel bracelet)

as mentioned before, i do not like the typical rolexes (you see them too often - and they look kinda old to me) and omegas do not really appeal to my taste either.

I also liked the jlc reverso (not gold), the cartier pasha does look nice, cartier calibre, audemars piguet royal oak, panerai radiomir, iwc portofino (with the milanaise bracelet).

those are just some watches from the top of my head that i like - and in my opinion go well in every occasion.

and btw - "precious metals" and "diamonds" watches are not taken into consideration. mainly due to the fact that i am no hip hop superstar or gordon gekko

Show him you're responsible: Pick a watch and then pick two for the same price as the first, one with a leather band (dressier) and one that's more sporty.

"Pop, I really like this one, but I figured I could get these two for the same price, have more versatility and they will last longer because I can alternate them. Whatddaya think?"

If money is truly no object I would look no further than your own country's A. Lange & Söhne.

Honestly I do love the JLC Master Tourbillon

SS band enough to be sporty, gator band enough to be dressy.

the jlc tourbillon is indeed a nice watch, but i do not feel that a tourbillon would suit me. I mean this is a piece of art and having something like this on my wrist, as i am still in my 20s, would just not look right.

I think you have to accomplish more, than i have in my life to be "worthy" of owning something like this...may be weird to say something like this, but that is how i feel
