Hey guys I'm in the market for a new dress watch preferably black leather with a slim silver case and a display back. I'm pretty new to luxury watches and I'm looking for something under 13k retail. I should note that I am more interested in watches with horological history than the precious/jewelry watch companies. I love the AP Jules Audemars extra thin, but unfortunately it is a bit out if my price range (20k). So far I found the JLC ultra thin moon 39, which is beautiful at about 10k. Any other suggestions?

The JLC ultra thin moon is a fantastic watch. I think it would be an excellent choice.

I like a very minimalist look similar to the AP extra thin and JLC ultra thin. I think the IWC is beautiful, but a drop more busy than I'd like.

If you relax a bit your criteria, here are some other choices around your 13k:

The Glashutte Original Panomatic Lunar is a stunning watch and has a design that's now a signature of the two most famed German watchmakers (GO and A. Lange & Sohne):

For what it's worth, I own the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon 39 and cannot think of a better dress watch on the market today. It is a gorgeous, heart-stopping watch, and I love seeing it on my wrist as much today as I did when I purchased it nine months ago.

Wow that Glashutte is amazing.. The movement is beautiful! I'm leaning towards the JLC though as the design is more timeless, but definitely a consideration.
