Hi everyone, my father passed away on Friday, november 5th, 2010 and he left me a watch. I want to get it engraved but I am not sure what to get engraved.

I was thinking of putting: In memory of Dad, 1937-2010 or should I put the full date with the days, can anyone suggest something nice to get engraved?

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Another option would be to bring your favorite picture of your dad and to get the watch back engraved with his portrait and dates. A good engraver should be able to do that for you.

Thanks for the kind words. The back of the watch is round, so would the engraver still be able to do it, or would i need a square face watch?

How much would something like this cost to get engraved?

I'm not sure about JC Randell's rates but you can email him at [email protected] - he's the one who did these and is the official engraver for Jaeger LeCoultre. He's one of the ery best so I imagine he's not cheap.

I'm sure a rounder back is fine for letters but, again, I would ask JC about more ornate engraving (e.g. a portrait)
