Going this weekend, used to live near the city but am now out of touch with the dining scene. Any suggestions? Everything from inexpensive to moderately price.

By Washington, you mean... Washington D.C. Not actual Washington, right?

Does the White House contain any fast food restaurants? I remember reading that Bill Clinton ate at McDonalds often.

Yeah, Bill loved the McLovin at the White House.

Yes the one he went to (while out on jogs with the Secret Service, and right after Monica would leave on Sundays) is on 17th street between Pennsylvania Ave. and H streets.

You should go here in Adams Morgan: Cashion's Eat Place. http://www.cashionseatplace.com

You can't go wrong with any of the Jose Andres tapas restaurants in Penn Quarter -- Jaleo (Spanish), Zaytinya (Mediterranean/Greek), and Oyamel (Mexican).

I liked the fries at Firefly, and Tabard Inn for brunch is nice. The old grand hotel bars like the Willard and the Jefferson are pretty cool as well.

Had dinner last night at Michel Richard's Central in Penn Quarter. Tasty, if over-priced French Bistro food. The rabbit with spatazle (sp?) is good, so are the shrimp burger and the ribeye.

It's "spätzle".

There's a place downtown on Pennsylvania called Chef Geoff's that has relatively cheap, and really good, hamburgers. If you're looking for a cheap fast lunch/hangover cure, it fits the bill nicely.

While I enjoy expensive restaurants as much as the next person, I typically have to stick to the cheaper places for my daily fix. Places like hipster-haven "The Diner" in Adams Morgan, Zorba's Cafe in Dupont Circle(greek), Moby Dick's House of Kabob(persian), and one of my personal favorite hidden spots that is even cool enough for a date is Harmony Cafe in Georgetown(asian, with vegan alternatives for every dish. I stick with the real meat).
