Last night, just flipping through the New Yorker magazine that arrived in yesterday's mail, I came across an article about Washington, DC tailor, George de Paris. He's got a shop at the intersection of 14th and G Streets, NW, and has done suits for US Presidents, congressmen, etc. going back about 30 years, etc. Quite an article -- about 6 pages long. Quite interesting too: not only describes his life, but also gives his opinions on fabrics, styles, etc. For example, he describes his opinion on various weight fabrics for various purposes; wearing vests; hats; etc. A good read for those who live in the DC metro area and are interested in custom clothes.
