Hi guys,

Over in my other thread about getting a MTM suit for my fall wedding I failed to mention that Washington DC actually works best for me due to proximity. So while there are many great choices in NYC, for my under $1500 (preferrably around $1000) budget, I really need to stick to DC.

So, any ideas other than waiting for HF, HSM, Burberry, or some other maker to come to my local Nordstrom?

thanks,
bob

I've used Schwarz in Alexandria for a MTM in your price range but had a mixed experience. The suits are full canvas with hand sewn buttonhole, etc, and in this respect of good quality. However, the tailor (not named Schwarz---why must all DC-area tailors who are not English or Italian pretend that they are?) did not do quite the best job with fit.

For other options, at that price point you could also find MTM at Burberry downtown (made by Hickey Freeman) or Cornelliani at James in Tysons.

Anybody do Samuelsohn in DC? That would fit his bill.

Everard's in the 1800 block of Wisconsin Avenue does made-to-measure, including HF.
