Coincidentally, along with Mr. April, I am also having an opening of my work. Paintings and works on paper at DCAC in Adams Morgan. Here's the card:

Tonight I hung pretty much everything, tomorrow is for cleaning up and getting ready for the opening Friday. My knuckles are raw from re-stretching canvas and it feels like munchkin teeth have latched on with flaming breath and acid tongues.

There will be things to eat, for you freeloaders.

I am afraid of an empty gallery.

First shows are anxiety incarnate.

This is really just a bump.

(For great justice)

If it's free (or no more than $20) to get in and theirs alcohol, I may be able to make it on friday. Is there a StyleForum VIP list? I have over 2000 posts you know, I think that makes me a little special.

I love that painting by the way.

Right across the street from the Diner, above the smoke shop and Alberto's Pizza. Next to LeftBank and diagonally from Madam's Organ, past True Story but not as far as B&K Newsstand. Like if you were at Tryst and looking at Columbia Rd., but then decided you had to look the opposite way, and at something yellow. About halfway between Idle Times bookstore and the falafel joint, but maybe not quite half. Up from Maggie Moo's but down from Blockbuster.

It's yellow, too.

Introducing myself first doesn't seem too difficult, I think I can manage. I've never been to an opening before, so I hope I'm not confronted with art snob snobbery.

I agree, every time her name is mentioned I end up respecting her more. This was very nice of her, she saw my work a while ago and volunteered her curatorial services, definitely made it a better show.

I just got back from hanging and cleaning up, everything is set.
