Washing jeans?

Reading the various jean posts, some responses mention not washing jeans, why? Haven't worn jeans in a while (5 years) but thinking about getting KMW or Left Field. I washed my Levi's every time I worn them. Can I do this with the new makers? Do I need to change any size considerations if I do this? I can't not wash jeans. How do people clean their jeans if they don't wash them?

usually applies to raw denim. the longer you go without washing them, the better the fades in the creases gets, so once you finally do wash them, they loose more indigo from the creases, so you get higher contrast fades. too many washes before the creases set in, and you end up with jeans that look like generic stonewash dad jeans.

Raw denim jeans are as stiff as ****. Get ready for some painful times! You are not a true SW&D member until you pass this test though...

I was all my jeans or pants just after buying them.

I don´t put my holly balls where another has placed theirs before. Period.

Put some salt with them to prevent decoloring.
