Washed/distressed brogues with suit?

I was curious if a well made leather pair of brogues that are washed/faded will work with a suit, or if it is like mixing oil and water.
These were the shoes in question:

Are these restricted to casual? Or could they work with a charcoal or grey suit?

I can totally see this with a causal suit e.g. Cotton, linen

Casual only, if at all, though I can't help but think that anyone who buys pre-distressed shoes is a bit of a poseur.
