Wash or dry clean cotton trousers?

I'm curious how forum members clean Dockers-style chino cotton trousers. Do you dry clean or launder them?

Machine wash on delicate. Then hang dry. Complete over kill to dry clean. In fact, a delicate cycle with a nice non-harsh detergent and hang drying is just fine to do.

I dry clean them when newer and I'm wearing them to the office for casual days etc. etc. Once they get older and less crispy they move on to being laundered at home. Even then I periodically send them off to the cleaners - as they iron the **** out of them and this is something that I'm generally to lazy to do.

Definitely wash, I have dry cleaned my chinos before and it seems to be more harsh on them than washing. Wash in cold water, hang dry and if you want a crease press them while still slightly damp.

In my experience, the only clothes that "benefit" from dry cleaning are those that simply cannot be washed, like suits and wool pants.
As saiyar1 and bwp also mentioned, a good detergent, a delicate cycle, and hang drying is good enough for almost everything you could own, and is in fact less hard on the fabric than dry cleaning. Chinos, if hang dried, need little or no ironing, which also helps extend their life.
