university student in small town. most of my clothing comes from the average box store crap (old navy, AE, winners) with the occasional H&M purchase or something from this boutique-y place in town. also, lots of careful thrifting.

what say you, perchance we shall take a steam train down to the local emporium and share a bottle of the goodman's local tonic?

I actually like your style. Pics 2 & 3 arent bad. 5 would have been my favorite but the tie is terrible! 6 & 7 arent bad either. 8 looks like your trying to hard. I would never dress the way you do but I respect your choices. You look like you could be a musician of some sort...

You seem to be having fun with your clothes, which I dig. For what you're going for, I think you do it pretty well. But scrap that ugly yellow tie. The rest of your stuff looks integrated into the overall aesthetic, but the yellow tie is too much of a stand-alone novelty piece. Your look is already about the wink and nudge, don't need a poke in the ribs.

looks good...big yellow tie has to go. #2 is the best IMO.

I think the outfits with the scarf would look better without the scarf. I'm also not sure I agree the shoulders of the jacket are too large. Besides from that, looking good.

I think the jacket in #2 tones down his shoulders and make him look a bit too slim (i.e. not broad shoulders). I liked it better with some shoulders on the other jacket. The coat in the picture with the ugly tie also looks good. I think it fits his figure better than than the first jacket.

everyone's hatin on the tie! it's my grandpa's old tie and i fell in love with in when i was going through his stuff! haha, it really is quite ridiculous. but that's okay, i don't actually think i've worn it out of the house.

but as for the wing collar, yea. i think i just need little spectacles and perhaps a bowlar to complete the look

perhaps a nicely waxed moustachio.

but anyway, yea. i think the jeans/vest/scarf smells highly of tries too hard and while sometimes i feel i can pull of certain styles easily, i try very hard to avoid looking try too hard

i try to get this good combination of dressing nicely, and dressing youthfully. sometimes i feel when i'm wearing a nice shirt, nice pants (got some kenneth cole slacks that are wonderful) etc, i feel either over-dressed or too old. and then i'll go and throw on some goofy brightly coloured t shirt and jeans and be all "what am I, 16" this forum has had good examples on how to dress prim and proper, but do it with flair. i've been combing the thrift stores and the Winners' for good additions to simple pieces, because that is the best base. Bet, all bragging aside, i don't think i do too bad for almost 0 budget or selection.

thanks for the crits!
