Hi, I'm a 28 year old male. I often read magazines like details, esquire, or GQ that talk about fashion and they are always advertising clothes that seem outlandishly expensive! Like $100-$200 for a casual shirt! I live in San Francisco and work as a software engineer so I never need to wear a suit, however, the ladies do appreciate a well dressed man. I make roughly 100k a year so I'm not poor or rich in San Francisco. However, this income is considered high for a single guy my age on the national level, so I'm wondering, how many people actually buy the stuff in these magazines? I usually shop at gap or express and will occasionally buy from banana republic or jcrew if they have a good sale. I've been browsing these magazines and I find I like Thomas Pink and Ralph Lauren(polos and purple label shirts) but I can't afford them. Same goes for Oliver Peoples' glasses and IWC watches. I guess I'll have to stick with my raybans and citizen watch for now!
