For $500? They very rarely go on sale below retail in solid navy or solid grey, unless you're a 46R or something like that...

I snoozed and a few slipped by me on ebay for under $5. I actually got my 38r charcoal off gilt a while back. However, they haven't been on there since haha.

A 38s in navy would be ideal - wish me luck!

Try this guy, his ebay buy now price is BS. He had a peak lapel 38S glenplaid two weeks ago, I offered him 500, he countered 600, and eventually went down to 575, but I decide not to take it (got enough suit around already, and quite a few are RLBL, would have cope at 500 though).

He re-track his offer at 575 about a day afterward, so I assume he sold in the 600 neighborhood, that was a peaked lapel though. I guess notch lapel might carry a premium or discount depends on how he think. I would say try offer the guy 550 and see if he refuse right away or counter offer with something sensible.

edit: oh yeah it's a pinstripe, not solid navy, but I say good enough if you ask me.

I definitely saw that on ebay! thanks so much for the insight, I didn't want to lowball him too badly as that starting price was ridiculously high.

That peak glenplaid was pretty nice. Man I love the Styleforum community.

I sold a similar suit in 38R on the forum for $950, which I would have thought is more like the going rate. Notch lapel is obviously going to be more expensive than peak lapel.

yours is new I remember, notch lapel usually carry premium because it is more versatile, though given my current wardrobe I would actually pay premium to get peaked lapel... Saving my fund for Paul Stuart these days though...
