Walnut or chili shoes - which is more versatile?

Been snooping around to find some shoes that will go better with this outfit than the burgundy longwings posted the other day:

I was leaning toward shades of walnut till I discovered chili which I think I like better but just wondered about their versatility - still OK with silver gray, navy, charcoal etc in the same way that brown/tan/walnut are?

fwiw I think I have a pair of walnut colored strands and chili colored Clifton's both from AE that use the same polish. I realise this might not be too helpful :|

Chili is more versatile.

I should think the difference between walnut and chili is mostly a matter of personal taste. Chili has a more reddish tinge, but the differences are slight. I seriously doubt if one can be considered more "versatile" than the other.

AE does sell walnut and chili polish btw

Chili. It also gets a nice patina.
EDIT: I don't think I would wear chili or walnut with charcoal.

I have both colors. Chili is more versatile, but I think walnut looks cooler with the right combinations and would look better with the outfit you posted.
