I just got a new Tyrwhitt shirt, and along with the shirt there was an offer for a $70 case of 12 bottles of wine, with more 3 bottles thrown in, plus $20 shipping and handling. Obviously for $6 a bottle it's hard to go wrong, but I'd rather not be stuck with a bunch of wines I won't like.

So I'm curious. Has anybody done the WSJ wine offers before? Have things turned out well? Are they worth the full freight of $170 for 12? Will these trend towards the unbearably sweet (I see Chianti on the list). I'd appreciate it if somebody could give me a sense before I buy.

Thanks!
