Waist is too big for me

Hey everyone. Normally, I come to realize something. I normally wear 28 waist, but almost all my pants/jeans are all 30. Two inches doesn't seem like a lot, but it actually is. Will this affect my appearance? Will it look like my pants are WAY too big, or is it ok? Thanks.

Your pants will look too big.  They'll either sit too low on your hips because of the extra two inches or you'll have to cinch them up with a belt and have the extra waistband material bunch up underneath the belt.

I have the same problem, with the same measurements. A 28 or 29 definitely looks better, but they're often hard to find. I can get away with 30 and a belt in jeans, but it's kind of hard to pull off in dress slacks. It's not like it's a glaring problem, but it's noticeable.

Again, same problem. I'm between 28 and 29, but it all depends on the cut. Some jeans / pants fit really baggy (size 29 at Banana Republic), while others fit nicely (size 31 at zara).

Anyone want to share their experiences with different clothing lines?

Alot of the Zara pants fit quite nicely.

Old Navy, Gap, American Eagle, Blue Notes, Buffalo, Banana Republic, Club Monaco don't fit that nicely.

I'm still looking for the perfect pair of jeans; I have yet to try envisu and paper denim & cloth ones. They have the pd&c in size 30, but they are always too big.

Any one have advice?

Oh, and yes. I think finding pants that fit make a BIG difference.

hey guys.......derek, my name is derrick..haha..

well here is where I get most my jeans:

- Sean John
- Nautica
- Tommy Hillfiger
- Diesel

I find that Sean John has really stylish jeans, but are more 'urban'. I think they are all basically the same. With jeans that are bigger, you have to low ride them a bit, because the measurement is wider near the bottom. If you pull them up, you will notice more space. All I use is basically a belt, and it holds pretty well. But what I notice is that even if the waist of the jeans are just 1 or 2 inches bigger, it makes you look like a punk, wearing really baggy pants. It's noticable. I advise that if you want to look clean cut, get jeans that fit. It's noticeable really depending on your style.

If you want to lean towarsd the GQ look, for sure get jeans that fit. If you want to look more casual, 1 or 2 inches doesn't matter much.

I'm quite content with my 29" waist. (I get 30" trousers to make room for food)
