Horween bison version, very tough leather!

Yeah, what do you think of Horween bison leather compared to the current kangaroo leather ver? I saw the kangaroo ones in hand and the material feels light and thin, dunno how those kangaroos hold up from scratches and sharp objects.

Not sure if Horween does vegetable dyed leather or these were the chromexcel dyed leather.

These are not vegetable dyed, and they aren't soft. Its a rough hand and they are stiff and somewhat heavier than the kngr models, but over time they soften up (a bit). The leather is also very thick, its a departure from the traditional suede / kngr iterations they normally do.

I thought these were one of the earlier models compared to the recent kangaroo models?

They do hold up the form better, and I tried going socksless at times and they are quite breathable too. Some of the site mentioned that these were made in Japan, not sure if it’s accurate.

First wear. And this happened... Contacted Mr Porter and Visvim, I'm sure they'll resolve the situation, but disappointed nonetheless.

Oof. Those were the boots from the recent Mr P sale? I think Mr P will likely be accommodating.

I ended up returning my pair since I was not completely happy with the fit. But I certainly liked them.

Yup. Still waiting to hear from MrP 24 hours later.

exactly, do you still have your black ones ? I haven't worn mine much for the past 3 years, but they are still my way to go boots for mountain hikes or rainy days.
