What was the overall process like? I received an address and verified my identity at Tenso. Is it now simply about using the Tenso address as my address in my Rakuten account?

the process is seamless. If you are using a proxy service you will purchase through the proxy service website portal. Items are shipped to your Tenso warehouse address in Japan then shipping to you to the USA or wherever is arranged by the proxy service.

yes, I've used Tenso many times to order from Rakuten. Right now I am using Buyee.jp. they buy from all platforms and all jp websites.

Buyee doesn't let you change the declared value of a package, correct?

I've bought too many good items on Mercari to justify the slightly higher service fee buyee charges. The difference in shipping cost are also not that big especially right now.

I find it a bit of a minefield to navigate tbh. May go back and look. It just reminds me of Depop and the search interface feels like its more interested in looking good than being functional.

I find FromJapan to be good to search a load of areas at once, as they aggregate a number of channels at once, rather than filtering between each on Zen, which is time consuming.

I do like it but it's expensive for sure. I think the u.s. retail price is around 2300usd so it would be a good idea to proxy from japan. I was told it's painted canvas too
