I would also consider items that are from the latest season, ie not past season should be legit- it takes counterfeiters a season (or two) before they get the reps online and into taobao. It only gets riskier as seasons pass and items sit at ssense. I wouldn't blink twice buying new, but if its on deep discount and last season its dependent on the item (more common things like sweats, tees, etc will have dupes, less likely for outerwear unless its popular).

New products that haven't even be launched yet get faked as well. Not sure with Vis specifically, but I think any item that is expected to be quite popular will be duped.

I'm guessing Chinese people know the antics of other Chinese people. And they might not be specifically saying that Chinese are the ones directly doing the returns, but suggesting that since the counterfeit market is greatly supported by Chinese people, that this is what's indirectly causing these issues with SSENSE.
Do you know if they do it with other brands? I just saw on Reddit that someone got a fake Pioneer shirt from Nordstrom.

I’ve had surprisingly decent experiences with Nordstrom - new envelope tags etc. - during the sales. Ssense on the other hand I’m very weary - to the point where I may have to only go through vis expo direct. My latest haul everything was sent in little repackaged plastic bags and re tags. I didn’t find them to be inauthentic but the items did seem to have some wear and just overall looked like old clearance stuff even though I made a point to pay extra for private sale new season items.

That is egregiously bad. I wouldn’t expect every retailer to have expert knowledge but it’s not even the right material and missing the super obvious white inner seam laminate.

It doesn't even have any brand or care labels anywhere on the coat. Wouldn't surprise me if someone ripped the labels off of some random jacket they had and replaced the real version when returning.
