Visvim Skagway issue

Hi SF,

I bought a pair of Skagways at Visvim's ICT Store in Tokyo in January and started wearing them about six weeks ago. They've probably had around 30 days of light wear in that time and already the sole edging is falling apart. Have any of you folks had a similar experience with this model? I've got 3 other pairs of Visvim shoes and have never had anything like this. My beloved Keifers have been worn every summer for the last 7 years and the soles are still in pretty good shape!

I emailed Visvim about this and sent them the pictures attached to this post. I was pretty shocked when they told me that this was to be expected with this model... when I sought some confirmation that these shoes are *really* expected to start falling about after a month and asked if the damage at the front of the shoe was normal I got no reply.... Since these pics were taken I've also notice a split on the side edging of the shoe...

Would be really grateful if anyone could comment on how well their Skagways have held up to normal wear.
