+1 And only if you travel a lot. The blended travel insurance pays it's worth more than what it would cost you to source it from a 3rd party. Knowing what having a Centurion is, my take (after 2 years) it that it was just for the show-off, basically (their members mag was OK, though...) A Visa is a Visa no matter how you dress it up, I'm afraid.

^^ the centurion was great to have for the following

Traveling
a. upgrades
b. lounges
c. Upgrades to rooms in most hotels
Nightlife
a. getting into a can't get into club ( if that's your thing)
b. getting tickets to hard to get show ( but you pay)

that's it and you don't have to be a big timer to get the card.

OP isn't talking about the Centurian card. Other than 2 airport lounge visits per year, what does the card offer? If you're a big traveler then AMEX Platinum sounds like a better card for some of the reasons mentioned above (plus, if you use an AMEX corporate card for work you can combine your points between your corporate and charge card). If the perks are something you really want, call them up and try to get the annual fee waived or at least part of the annual fee waived.

I recv'd an invite as well and it went straight in the trash. I'm not looking at anything unless it has some serious cash back, 0% something for 12 months, or a serious incentive towards travel..

I have both cards and they are nothing compared to the effect of pulling out a gigantic wad of $100s from your pocket.
