HI @djhak. it is said that a picture is worth more than a hundred words but what it says is fine. this was the case with older models.
On nose pads it is not necessary BL. (two parallel lines). I suppose there is no Ray Ban on the glass and it is possible that it is BL sleeping.

I am a self proclaimed expert on Bausch and Lomb aka Vintage Ray Bans. I have a degree in Vintage Ray Ban Eyewear, if you need help or have a question this is the place to get answers. I also buy them if you have a pair or more you want to sell. Cheers.
Hello, I have a pair of gold Ray-Ban Olympians which I believe must belong to the very first issue. The BL is in the centre of the lens at the top, otherwise the only marking is on the arm: B&L Ray Ban USA 4 3/4. They do not have the typical Ray-Ban logo on the lens, which is what made me think that they might possibly be quite an early version. That and the fact that they don't have the usual modern comforts like sprung hinges, etc. Or perhaps I've got a phoney.

I volunteer for a charity taking eye care to Africa, and would like to sell these for a sensible price. Can you advise me, please, as to your opinion on the vintage?

Hi, I'm hoping a Wayfarer expert can tell me a little about the vintage 5022s I found at an estate sale.

The pictures show what I've got. Sorry the 5022s are dirty, I haven't cleaned them yet. Everything looks properly vintage, but I'd like to hear from people who know these things better than I do.

Thank you!

I have a pair of Bausch and Lomb 1/10 12K GF Vintage Ray Bans. I'm curious as to what year they are and the value.

Hello, I am new in this forum. I would like to know if the sunglasses I want to buy are original B&L Ray-Ban. The seller says in the product description that they are from 1960. Under the nosebridge it has the inscription that apparently says B&L INC 10K GF.

Found a B&L sunglass owned by my mom. She says it's from the 80's, but isn't sure about the year, exactly. Can't take pics right now, but it's an aviator, "B&L" inscriptions on both lenses, no Ray-Ban inscriptions though. Golden frame, green lenses. On the frame, on top of the "nose part", it says "B&L 58[]16 USA". Left tip "093", right tip "12 88".
We are both brazilians and she bought it here in Brazil aswell. Trying to find some info on it. Year it was fabricated and such. We have the orignal case too, though it's well worn.

Hi...I have a pair of BL I found in the Sunglass box at the cottage. They've been there as long as I remember. When we closed it up for the winter I brought them home to investigate.

I'm pretty sure the only markings are at the top where is says "B&L Ray Ban USA" and the BL on the lense

Can anyone help?

They are Ray-ban caravan sunglasses. I say it for B&L 58 [] 16 U.S.A.
58[]16 It is the standard size for that model of sunglasses

Please help me identify what year these Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses are, or if they are genuine or fake ?

@musehead

Hello,
I am new to the forum, looking for some information. If possible, would like any information that could be provided about these. Picked them up at an estate sale. Have done enough research to be unsure about their authenticity. Was told they are quite old... but would like some real information on them. I can provide better pictures if necessary.

Hi, one for the vintage Ray-Ban gurus out there. I have a pair of authentic Ray-Bans, made in Italy, Model RB3024, etched RB in left lens, RB on nose-pads etc. I have a case that is marked Driver Series Chromax. My understanding is Chromax models have a lightening bolt on the front right lens next to 'Ray-Ban'. Does anyone know if these are authentic Chromax without the bolt or if they are in the wrong case? Much appreciated.

They’re not authentic I’m afraid, neither the glasses or the case. Sorry.
