Are these Ray Bans? Got at a flea market. Lots of old stuff, some military stuff at table. It has "RB" on the nose guards, and the only engraving I can find on the frames is under the nose bridge that reads "59 [] 14"

Is it possible they were military issued? Or just fakes? They look old. There is some oxidation on the metal under the plastic. We're they counterfeiting that long ago?

Couple things. I don't believe they started doing the RB on the nose pad until after they started having the Ray Ban logo, so it's possible that they are real, but they may have replacement lenses.

Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. I think prescription lenses, because I was wearing them and I'm near-sighted, and they help a bit.

And if fake, only paid $3

I think they are real RBs, just have aftermarket lenses. They are Made in Italy as well.

Hi, I have a pair of vintage Ray Ban Wayfarers and I would like to know how old they are, but am having a very hard time finding out, so if anyone here could help me out it would be much appreciated! I added some pictures here.
On the back of the left arm is 'L2009 YSAS' and further towards the front 'WAYFARER'
On the right arm is 'B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A'
On the back above right lense is 'B&L 5024'
They have 'BL' edged on both lenses.

Any information about these would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! IMG_0028.JPG IMG_0029.JPG IMG_0039.JPG IMG_0040.JPG IMG_0041.JPG IMG_0042.JPG IMG_0043.JPG

Hi I found a pair of vintage Raybans in my grandfathers house and I was wondering how authentic they are and how protective the lens are against UV rays.

I am a self proclaimed expert on Bausch and Lomb aka Vintage Ray Bans. I have a degree in Vintage Ray Ban Eyewear, if you need help or have a question this is the place to get answers. I also buy them if you have a pair or more you want to sell. Cheers.
Hello, could you please tell we what kind of ray- ban it is and how old they are? There is BL written on the lenses and B&L RAY-BAN U.S.A. on the top of the glasses. Thank you

They are aviators. Outdoorsman to be precise because they have the plastic eyebrow bar.
The model came first to the market and still luxottica ray ban in the exact same shape exists.
Yours seem to hae grey changeable lenses meaning photochromatic. Or maybe superchangeables which darken fast. Those lenses got first introduces in the early 70s maybe mid / end 60s. However at that time frames were gold color. Black chrome frames are more recent..maybe emid / end 70s
are the lenses etched?
