Hello!

Now I have got a question to real vintage experts:

I am owning three original B&L Wayfarer 5024 in tortoise. They are all marked B&L5024 on the inside over the right glass (and WAYFARER on the left temple and B&L Ray-Ban USA on the right one). Two of them are from the early 90s. The formerly owner of the third one has changed the glasses because of scratches to newer ones from RB.
The really weird thing for me:
The last, newer one, has got another form than the others. It's more "curved" over the nose, so it looks more like a cateye. At first I've mentioned it to be a Meteor, but it's definitely marked as Wayfarer.
Is anyone able to explain when Bausch & Lomb changed the form?

On the pictures below the glasses without marking are the original, the one marked with a white "Ray Ban" is the more cateye-one.

Figured this would be a decent place to post this, I'm looking to buy a handful of sunglasses:
-Ultragradient/Fantasees*
-rose/pink Changeables aviators
-Super Changeables aviators, preferably not gold frame
-DGM and TGM aviators, preferably not gold frame

*Regarding Ultragradient lenses and Fantasees, I can't find a lot of information. From what I've gathered, it seems Fantasees used Ultragradient lenses, but I'm curious if anyone knows if non-Fantasees with Ultragradients have the same lenses? I can't find a clear answer as to whether both have the lightened glass. I've seen some Ultragradients for sale without any 'Fantasees' branding on the lens (at Vintage Sunglasses Shop, they seem to know their stuff) but I'm not 100% sure they'd weigh a bit less than standard B&L Ray Ban aviators.

Also wondering if anyone knows how the photochromic properties of Ultragradients/Fantasees compare to Super Gradients (namely transition speed from light to dark and vice-versa, and min/max transmissivity), if anyone knows.

I have a question for anyone who might know. What exactly are these? Are they Ray Ban? Are they Wings? They are definitely in the style of Wings but the little center piece is different and I like that. These are Michael Jackson’s personal sunglasses worn in the early 80’s and I’d like to get an identical replica of them. I found one on Etsy that was close but no cigar. Any help would be appreciated

I am a self proclaimed expert on Bausch and Lomb aka Vintage Ray Bans. I have a degree in Vintage Ray Ban Eyewear, if you need help or have a question this is the place to get answers. I also buy them if you have a pair or more you want to sell. Cheers.
Hi, I was just given as a gift these super cool vintage Ray Ban's from late 70's early 80's can you help me identify the model and maybe a value?? They are completely blemish free.

I'm currently using this online auction site https://auctionwin.com to find some good deals on random items like electronics, home items, and accessories and I saw that they have an entire page dedicated for sunglasses. Last time I checked, all of the sunglasses being auctioned on there are actually Ray-Bans that might be helpful to collectors out there.

Hi there! I'm so glad to find someone I can ask for help :) ... do you know if Bausch & Lomb ever produced Ray-Bans with "Leon" on the lenses? I have just purchased an old pair of Ray-Bans from a private seller and I have no idea if they are even genuine - I just liked the look of them! Picture attached ... thanks, K

Yeah, this thread has a very good google placement, so it gets a lot of questions from people who can't find answers elsewhere. It's really surprising how little solid information is available on the web.
