Please ignore the case as I doubt my deceased uncles ever cared about putting things in order, is it normal to have BL marks in the middle of the lenses? Since their good state I thought either uncle decided to replace the lenses and restore the frame but then after checking the wrong place I found them

a pair exist of a few separate things, Frame, lenses, temples and case. The frame has again nose pads and temples have ear pieces if they are not curled temples.
Your pair have the same frame as early deep freeze models as deep freeze models had standard frames in that time, later deep freeze models had different frames., but besides that, they are totally different. Temples are not alike, lenses neither and they dont have a deep freeze case.
In other words: yours are definitely not deep freeze, any reference to deep freeze is misplaced

good luck selling
I for a fact have the original, holy Grail if deep freeze sunglasses, with the hooked ear frames that the aAir Force gave out to pilots in 1967, with original case and cloth.

Hi there
When did B& L start etching their lenses for the aviator.
I just purchased a set of replacemnet lenses for my 81 Made in the US frame and it has no ray ban paint print on the right lens and no etching on the lenses. Are they original? I was told that they are original and originated before they started etching them.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Can anyone help me identity these please? They do have a little BL inscribed to the far side of each lens and W1974 YQAW on one arm. Is the 1974 in that the year of production?
Many thanks

I have a pair of frames without markings( due to use) I am trying to identify them so I can get new lenses. Bought them at sunglass hut in 2010 I believe. the lenses measure about 62mm.

Hi, I've only been a member for 2 minutes, so I probably am doing this all wrong. I have a similar issue going on. I purchased 2 pair of wayfarers. The black and blue pair has all the correct markings for after 1999 production (RB 2140, etc.-on one temple and WAYFARER (R) Hand made in Italy etc. on the other temple and the RB etched on the left lense. They are in beautiful, not abused pre-owned condition. The black and fushia glasses are like new and say on the temple pieces, WAYFARER, B & L RAY BAN U.S.A. but the lenses are extremely corrective and do not have B & L on them, nor do the temple pieces have the RAY BAN logo. I know that someone can take the glasses to any eye doctor and have corrective lenses added, so that can explain not having B & L on the lenses, but not having Ray Ban on the side is of interest to me. Any comments? Thank you :)
