I have a pair of Ray Bans 14mm L 0556. Gold aviators. I need a replacement left temple arm and screw. What’s the best way to source this part?

I am a self proclaimed expert on Bausch and Lomb aka Vintage Ray Bans. I have a degree in Vintage Ray Ban Eyewear, if you need help or have a question this is the place to get answers. I also buy them if you have a pair or more you want to sell. Cheers.
Hey musehead, I am new and found this post. So, registered to ask for some help. I have a B&L Ray-Ban from my dad that I THINK are late 70s Caravan based on some online searching (B&L etched, no white marking on lens). The thing is, the original frame broke, so he found some non-RB replacement frame which is crooked, causing the temples to be loose for me. I bought the same size 58mm RB3136 non-vintage from eBay which looks like it's from 90s (RB etched on 1 lense, Ray-Ban white logo). These are prescription lens. My plan was to use this frame for my vintage lens (non prescription). I got the ones from eBay today but they are slightly shorter and the curve is a bit off compared to the vintage. My vintage lens don't fit in the gold RB3136 frame even though both are 58mm. So, I am wondering what went wrong. Is it that the Caravans have had small changes in shape over the decades or is it that the prescription lens could have been cut? Is my vintage glass a Caravan or some other model? Any ideas on how I can get a frame for my vintage caravan 58mm? Thanks a lot to anyone that can help. I love these glasses. I have attached 2 pics: gold frame is the eBay RB3136. I can send side by side pics too if that helps.

Hi All - replying to my earlier post hoping someone sees and can help. Does anyone know whether the vintage RayBan Caravan RB3136 from B&L (late 1970s) was bigger (taller lens) compared to the modern day Classic (not "New") RB3136? Both 58mm wide.. thanks!

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between B&L Clubmasters 1 and 2. I believe the 1 is 49mm and 2 is 51mm.

An online seller is selling a pair of Clubmasters but doesnt know if its 1 or 2. I prefer 49mm.
Are there any markings on the frames to tell the differnece ?

Hello I have a pair of Ray-Ban gold with brown tint aviator sunglasses 58-14 from the mid-1980s. The lens etching and nose pads are correct but there is no style number marked on the frame. Is this typical? I personally bought these in the 1980s and they've been sitting in a drawer. I've had them for almost 40 years.

Hello. I think that RB50 glasses are a continuation of Ambermatik glasses. Ambermatik glasses are brighter than ambermatik full mirror, and the RB50 continues that. I think the RB50s are also the ambermatik series. What do you think?

Hi musehead,

I am interested in purchasing a pair of Vintage Ray Ban/B&L "Shooters" but, they are not Polarized.

Do you know if OEM Ray Ban polarized 62mm lenses [same lens size as the Vintage] would fit? Would there be anything preventing them from fitting? I would love to "turn" these sunglasses into a polarized pair.

Thank you for your time!

Hi- I just picked up a pair of what I think are genuine Tainan aviators from some time before the 70’s. They are all black frames with grey lenses, but the lenses don’t have the laser BL or the Rayban logo on them. They came in the tan leather case that says “Bausch and Lomb ray-ban reg. Us. Pat. Off. Sunglasses all printed in green. On the top bar is engraved B&L USA. Can you offer any wisdom on when they may have been made? The case appears to be from the 50’s, but I can’t find any example of the glasses themselves online. Any help would be appreciated!
