Hello,

I purchased the following:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

The question I ask is, where have all the craftsmen that made this level of quality gone?

Paid $52 + 12 shipping + handling. Too big, they are a size 11. I had previously bought some vintage 11s and they were like size 10 - 10.5 of today. These are like 10.5 - 11. Closer to 11. $55 takes them with shipping in the conti US included.

Also CJ spectators:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWN%3AIT&rd=1

$ 150 shipped in the continental US.

Thanks,

Thanks

The C&J spectators are gorgeous. I saved pics on my computer. Any sense of what year they were made? Ever seen that style in a larger size? I'd love to get my hands on a pair...

Dankev was the first to respond. But he had expresssed concern about the condition of the leather especially cracks. If one looks VERY carefully at the pictures, one sees tiny striations in the leather. I am not an expert but I dont think they are cracks. I have a pair of Stetson shoes that had similar cracks when I bought them NOS and I have been wearing them for 10 years.

Edmorel was the next one to reply. I replied to him as I was not sure if these would meet Dankev's scrutiny. Dankev then offered to buy them (before Edmorels offer).

Any photographs that I could take would pale in comparison to the ones on ebay. As they cost me $64 and I listed them for $55 (and included free shipping - yeah robber barron shoe merchant!!), I think it is a very fair price for these.

Dankev, please examine the pictures on the ebay listing. If they are OK, please let me know. It would have been so much simpler if they fit me.

If I hear negative from Dankev, they are off to Mr. Edmorel.

I am actually surprised that I have multiple offers for these and none for the CJ spectators. Those are the most Gatsbyish shoes I have ever seen.

I hope this is ok by all. I dont like being the cause of unpleasantness, there is plenty of that to go around.

Thanks

Yes, I would like to buy them. Sorry Edmorel! Oscarthewild, please let me know how you'd like me to pay, and I'll do it. Thanks!

No harm, no foul. Oscarthewild, simply sell me the C&J spectators for $55, and we'll be square.
