1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

Langston Hughes. Very interesting guy, precursor of the black pride culture.

I had always assumed that the municipal golf course in D.C. was named after him. In my mind, it was the Langston Hughes Golf Course. My error as it turns out.

Instead, the course was named for John Mercer Langston. Glad to be corrected on this!

These pictures are ancient, where in the world did you get them?

Great photos, Dig. Webb's light gray suiting fabric with charcoal/black chalk stripe looks great. It's too bad nobody makes them anymore. The London Lounge should resurrect them.

Rogers's light-colored suit is amazing, too.

Love that top photo, Parker. Four-buttons can be really interesting.

"I don't like your kind of people. I don't like to see you come out to this clean country in your oily hair -- dressed up in those silk suits - and try to pass yourselves off as decent Americans. I'll do business with you, but the fact is, I despise your masquerade...."

STP had a Belvest Dupioni silk a few years back. I'm still kicking myself for not picking it up.

^ :) dat slubby silk is slick.

Yeah, I've been perusing a lot of vintage photos recently and realized the range of shapes and configurations of suits have really morphed over the past 100 years. I don't know if it's thread-worthy, but I'll post a few more interesting photos here later.
