Hey! I recognize those!!

I’m in Seattle for a Mock trial Monday. I want to state for the record I did not arrive until today.

This is important because there was a home invasion and the robbers stole a collection of “high end shoes!”

These may just be the most interesting vintage shoes I've seen. The seller has three pairs of these 1960s Florsheims in Purple, Red, and Green.

Meant to post last week: finally have my own pair of steel-toed zombie kickers.

Tom McAn. No idea how old they are. The right shoe has taken some abuse, as you can see on the vamp, but overall they're pretty good.

Incoming: J&M shell saddles. I told my set that I didn’t really like saddles. But I thought that these being shell ... plus the $75 shipped price... plus lots of you gents making them look good... plus being on @davidVC ‘s list = my mind changed. I told myself I didn’t like tassel loafers too. I own two pair of those now. https://ebay.to/33UKlru

A couple pair of shoes came in while I was out of office last week. Soles and uppers appear to be in really good shape, but the heel plate on the Clapps is destroyed.

Preview shots.

That's a rare pair. They looked like they were in good condition in the photos. Hopefully they fit well.

There's interesting, good. And interesting...for someone else. This is a clear case of the latter for me. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Thanks to you and your list for alerting me to them. The pair I’m wearing today looks to have a similar last. It’s a sleeker last than some other saddles I’ve seen. I think I’ll like them.

I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!

Nope, it's "Polished Cobbler". But they're my size*, priced right and pulled out of that Goodwill that @friendlygoz and I like to complain about. So I'm going to put them in the rotation for rainy days.
*13 D, always down to trade!

I am betting they are covered in polish. I think the lighter colors would not poke through like that if they had been dyed. Looking forward to more pictures.
Oddball Golden Harvests arrived today. They are indeed covered in polish. Would love to know the story here. I put a little Reno’Mat to the toe cap on one - these are salvageable, but it’s gonna take some elbow grease to get there and there will always be some “patina” in the brogue holes. Should make for an interesting look.

I will pop some corn and watch the progress. These shoes remind me a harp I once purchased for my wife. The front column was originally covered in gold leaf, but the little girl did not like gold so her parents covered it with brown house paint. :brick:
