I have been cleaning up my Crockett & Jones Balmorals in preparation for a late fall walk. Minus 4 Celsius here in Ottawa today but the sidewalks are dry and the sun is shining. One of the fun things about wearing these boots is seeing the lasted shoe trees again.

Damn! Those are great looking shoes!

Anybody know who made Brooks Brothers shoes if they are made in England?

Depends on the shoe, they’ve used several makers.

Yea, I was a bit premature on my question. I have learned it was either C&J, or EG, or Alfred Sargent. Or Peal & Co (which I think is just Brooks Brothers).

Here is a pic of the writing.

WOW! I like those!

Did you order those custom like that or did you have them resoled? I like the light color stitching and the natural edge. VERY cool contrast with the Black pebble grain.

I had them resoled. Story and pictures below.

These started as old Florsheims I found on Ebay for around $50. Wrinkled vamps for sure.

Then I did a water reshape of the shoes. See vcleat.com for details on how to do that.

Recrafted the soles and had new soles stained to look original. Work done by Steve at Bedos leather works.

Old AE somethings in walnut with new soles and heels. 10 D.
EDIT: They are the 'Augusta' model, which was only made for a year or so around 2008-9.

My son received his NOS 1984 Camel Dacks in the mail today. I have him wearing good shoes now, but I need to work on his photography. One step at a time.

Are you up for adopting me and then giving me, your new son, some sweet 9D Dack’s? I’m potty trained and I support myself financially.
