Thrifted beater private label (MI Italy by Gravati) NSTs, in my eldest son's size, from today. Will post again after cleaning them up. Wilkes Bashford was quite a character here in San Francisco. New York Times Obit & Wikipedia

Great find! They have a store at the Stanford shopping center. It is PRICEY. I have a Wilkes Basford hanger that I grabbed out a box labeled “free stuff” that was sitting on a curb near my house. That’s about as close as I’ve come to owning anything from that store.

"Grabbed out a box labelled free stuff"....

That's your story, and you're sticking to it.

No, mine have lived a pretty easy life and seem to have been very well cared for. The hide is soft and supple with no damage, but I may give the linings a sip of neatsfoot.
I watched a Kirby Allison video and he recommended the Reptan for alligator. Another video said mink oil! I'll have to get some Reptan, but it's not pressing and the shoes will continue to live their pampered lives.
This pair was also once on eBay for (what I consider) far too high a price. Jim made an offer that was accepted, so perhaps yours will be too. Be sure to report and post!

Hmm. I suspect I know the seller that you guys speak of. Have had a couple pairs on my list forever.

The seller I’m talking about has only one listing and no feedback. She does have a ton of feedback on Poshmark.

Are they displayed on green velvet in the listing photos?

It is pricey. I drive by that store every day on my way to work and smile at the Kiton menswear they have on the mannequins in the window displays. Sometimes while wearing Kiton. Thrifted, of course. Checking the website, it looks like they're having a Brunello Cucinelli trunk show this weekend. I'll have to stop by on the way home and grab a catalog. The photography is beautiful; I love Umbria and their whole aesthetic.

in my christmas is coming soon feeling this box arrived for me today. Was coming from western canada and may have been misdirected from a trajectory towards the 'Jiqea' household of ottawa:) Was stuck at the office and by the time I arrived home the 15kg had doubled in weight due to a colorado low and a lot of snow. Will prep these for my store, if anything catches a members eye send me a message. I am putting it towards my dream fund of moving to a warmer climate. Below is a quick breakdown, also not sure about the last hide:

John Mchale captoe 10D
Church fighting seal 7.5D
Dack’s Zebu grain u wings 8D
bostonian crown windsor 10EE
allen edmonds asbury chelsea boots 8.5D
dack’s whole cut antelope 8.5E
dack’s 11.5B bison deadstock
dack’s 11.5E camel headstock
salvatore ferragamo 13A shortwings
barker 13.5 loafers
McHale ‘mystery’ hide 11.5A
