Those are cool. I’m in Paris right now and I’ve seen several men’s wearing Jodphurs. They looked good on those guys.

After an initial gator band, I decided to take what I had learned and make another for my Apple watch. It was a good weekend project. But in the long run it would be cheaper to buy one. But not as fun.

Good morning, gents. Back in the saddle after a week of vacation visiting the in-laws. I was able to break in my Wolverine 1000 Miles nicely. They are very comfortable and likely my go to travel footwear.

Decided to air out my shell MacNeils this morning. I recently picked up a black pair from @davidVC ’s list. My original intention was to flip them, but since they work for my feet, I will keep and resole with Dainite or Vibram Eton. The latter seems popular with local cobblers.

Doing some work in Paris and so I followed @Oshare’s advice and brought a pair of vintage shoes: faux reptile Hartt tassel loafers. I fit right in. We’ve been here five days and today was the first that everyone addressed me in French first. In fact - no joke - a guy stopped me near Notre Dame, pointed at my shoes and said something in in French followed by a thumbs up. And to think... I was going to sell these. We are going to to the Canada vs Sweden women’s World Cup game tonight. I’m cheering for my sisters of the North of course. It’s like I’m going all Canadian...

Thanks. That is actually my second item, both were watch bands. Watching multiple videos on YouTube helps one avoid many mistakes and answer many questions.

No. I went to the London store last year. They sales associates looked at me like I had no business being there. They have very good powers of perception.

I'm having a devil of a time finding the right waxed shoe laces for these black Ferragamos. For some reason, my search-fu is weak. All I can find is 3/32", which won't even fit through the lace holes. Here it's pictured next to the white Ferragamos with the correct laces. Good and evil...

1. It looks like he’s re-using the midsole. It appeared to still have the sewing perforations when he was gluing it back on. My understanding is that weakens the midsole because the likelihood of hitting those holes exactly is low.

2. I’m not a big fan of the airbrushed burnishing. Seems a bit fussy for ongoing maintenance. But that’s just me. Horses for courses.

3. I really don’t like his shoelace choice. It looks like cheap cotton cord. Not substantial enough for a shoe that beautiful.

Sorry. I was trying to do this on my phone on the way from my office to the main campus, and the platform didn’t like it when the device switched from WiFi to a cellular connection, so it refreshed the page and lost that I was replying to the post about the Soleman Buffalo video.

Agreed the lace choice doesn't match the feel of the shoe. But for me, I'm always saddened when I see v-cleats replaced. At least it's a good sole/heel choice!

Have we ever reached a conclusion about the white residue in the creases of shell: is it because they’re too dry, or because they’re still expressing fats from the tanning process.
