Another heartbreaker for me. I was the losing bidder on these shoes on Shopgoodwill at $315.I ran across these Florsheim PTBs on Ebay. Having never encountered shark skin PTBs, and no style number, these may have been a special order. Size 12B, not my listing. The seller will take offers, but is asking $999.

Young goatDavid's got a interesting 1930s shoe for sale in my size.
Described as kidskin. Is that young kangaroos?

Ok so I like sharkskin, and I love vintage Florsheim. but these are just not my cuppa. Like a long and narrow foot prune, pass.I ran across these Florsheim PTBs on Ebay. I am not sure the shoes are wearable. More of a museum piece. The leather is 80 to 90 years old so I don't think it would stand up to much wear.David's got a interesting 1930s shoe for sale in my size.
I am tempted and will watch how high these bids.

@davidVC , any interesting provenance tidbits on these shoes?
While these are rare they are also hideous and I really can't stand that seller.I ran across these Florsheim PTBs on Ebay. Having never encountered shark skin PTBs, and no style number, these may have been a special order. Size 12B, not my listing. The seller will take offers, but is asking $999.

Do tell. . .While these are rare they are also hideous and I really can't stand that seller.
How does the leather feel? In my experience, kidskin is not as prone to drying out and cracking as calf.I am not sure the shoes are wearable. More of a museum piece. The leather is 80 to 90 years old so I don't think it would stand up to much wear.
They are very handsome shoes. Nice color. The welt stitching on these older pairs is amazing. The outsoles have a closed channel.
I have had them in my basement museum for nearly 10 years.
