Curious what you do in situations like this since i know you tend to use cobblers via a mail service.

They can be worn as is. The boots definitely won't fall apart. But whenever I look at them, they bother me. The finisher really butchered the sole edges.

I do visit some cobblers in person from time to time.

I'm taking them to Dimar in Guelph to be rebuilt. New 360 welts. Veg tan leather midsoles. EVA wedge build up. And some kind of outsole that can grip in the cold and snow.

I've attached pics of work done by another shop. I want mine to look like this.

I believe these are the E.T. Wright versions of the Hanover/Bostonian shell shortwings owned by other members of this list. If I recall, @Oshare and @CWOyaji brought their pairs together in Tokyo a couple years ago. I have accessorized them with my Bombas Cookie Monster socks.

This listing made me chuckle. That's sealskin. But points for the "faux log wood grain" description.

The fact that his opening bid asks $650 gives me a clue that he may know a little more about the leather than he states. That being said, I still would not consider that price.

My question might not have been clear, but I think you answered it
Given that you're unhappy with the result of the initial work done (even though they're wearable), I was curious to know if you'd go back to that cobbler who did the work and have them either re-work it or give you a break on the pricing.

Seems like your preferred method is to just go to a trusted cobbler and get them re-done (and assumingly not use the initial cobbler again)

Sorry I misunderstood. I got these as is. These were thrifted by another enthusiast and found in this condition. I suspect these are the factory results.

Haven't worn shoes in a while but an office day calls for it.

Vintage Dacks that I thrifted for pennies. The last is quite generous but I can wear thicker wool socks.

Pablo Hadarits rebuilt with a new brown welt and Londra soles. It's a nice casual look.

The opening bid was $0.99 the other day. Maybe someone told the seller that they are rare shoes.

I was about to say this. When I originally clicked the link it was $0.99. I thought that maybe inflation was exponential on ebay.
