Welp, I messed up. I won a pair of Stuart McGuire wingtips at auction. The description didn't list the width so I assumed it was normal width. You know what happens when you assume right?

So now I'm the proud owner of a beautiful pair of 12 B shoes when I need as 12D. If anyone wants a pair, they're yours if you cover shipping.

How about a very unusual/rare pair.

These are a semi mystery. They are Special MTO Florsheim 35004. That style number is close to the Regency from the 1960’s. But, the Regency is brown alligator and is 35007. It is also ALL Alligator.

These are styled like the Yuma except the vamp/toe is Alligator and the remainder is calf.

The handwritten numbering indicates to me it was a Special Order plus the fact that is sort of a combination of styles/materials.

Either way, it is exceedingly rare and one I am thrilled to have found especially in my size.

Just catching up and figured I could use a few more points towards honorary Canadian citizenship.

I just picked up a pair of Dack's kangaroo leather Oxfords on the bay. I don't have any kangaroo leather shoes, so I had been curious to add a pair to my collection.

Unfortunately I'm back in Tokyo now, and shipping here would have cost about $180 CDN... so instead they are going to my Hawaii home for a tropical vacation until the next time I can pick them up.

For now at least I have the listing photos to look at.

Solidarity post for @KarlHungus re: “over-paying” for vintage models. I can’t remember if I showcased these or not, but I was able to find an NOS pair of Sanfords from 1994 on Poshmark this past Thanksgiving (that morning). I paid $175 for these. Rare condition in a rare size (10eee). Note: they are/were “seconds” according to the stamp…

Don't feel too bad, those are not good quality and the soles are hard plastic. With rare exceptions, Stuart McGuire is a pass.

Church’s Cotswold in Ranch Oxhide. My understanding is that this model/leather combination was specific to the late ‘50s or early ‘60s. Don’t know for sure.
