Found a 99 cent Alden pair that I am guessing couldn’t be marked any lower, and saw some sparks of life despite the recrafting and insides. So did a bit of restoration. Not perfect but wearable. Still need to do something about the insides and a small tear in the back.

Also some pictures from DC/Northern Va trip, so it’s not all shoes. Although I could probably have visited the American History museum and see what they have the displays wearing.

I just picked up these from David's ebay sale.

He's trimming down his impractical golf shoe collection while I am stuck increasing my impractical golf shoe collection (I don't play golf).

The pair looked to nice to pass up.

I am still pondering sitting out on famous pro golfer Chi Chi Rodriguez NOS Footjoy from estate sale. Particular these NOS unwrapped Lizards.

Glad you got them. That pair was shipped today. If they were my size I would definitely wear them on the course. The "Shrunken Calf" FootJoy used is pretty nice.

Found some vintage Nettleton 4602 shell saddle shoes today, but sadly too small for me. Cleaned up pretty nicely, but there is a thin spot in both soles and a little damage on the piping. Bummed because I paid up a little for them using my Buffalo Exchange trade credit.

I have seen a handful of Korean made pairs in my size on eBay over the years and was curious about their quality. Good to know they are still a solid shoe! They are usually a bargain too.
I always look for Sears shoes but have skipped the Korean made ones, perhaps I should rethink that.

No worries. In president Carter's words (paraphrased) I have also lusted in my heart :) Of course if ever asked point blank about it, I would have to use Chief Justice John Roberts words from his confirmation hearing: "I don't recall"
When it comes to vintage shoes I’ve lusted in my heart, but especially my feet…

Yesterday felt like a Friday to me, but today the real thing is here! I will admit that most days feel like Friday when one is retired. Not quite the same rush as before, but I make up for it by sporting Hanover PTBs. The Hanover catalog at Vcleat.com shows this shoe, called the Norseman, as a style 2101 in their Imperial line. It is "for the young man on his way up." Yep, that is me, through and through. Their LB Sheppard line does not contain a PTB, but mine are apparently in another catalog year as they are style 2102 and have the LB Sheppard insole. Goodness only knows what the difference may be. Perhaps these are "for the older man on the way out."

So having recently acquired some shell shoes, I decided to get some of the cordovan polish from saphir. Ordered some from eBay, the listing was titled “Saphir Medaille D'or Creme Cordovan Shoe Polish, 75 ml, 37 Medium Brown” from a seller who seems to sell lots of shoe care items.
Not knowing the entire saphir product line, I assumed this was a medium brown polish designed for cordovan shoes, but it isn’t, it’s their regular medium brown polish.

Who is at fault here? Seller for improperly titling the listing or me for not knowing the product line well enough? Should I request a return? Further, is this stuff okay to use on shell or should I buy the right stuff?

I can always use this on other brown shoes, but I wouldn’t have spent nearly $30 on it if I had known it wasn’t the polish specifically designed for shell.

Send it back. This was an improper listing.

The regular shoe cream shouldn't be used on shell.

I'd go by what the ad said and if the jar had 'cordovan' pictured on the lid. I think the polish has 'creme 1925' on the lid. Rereading your description above, sound like they mixed terms. Their mistake.
I had one of the well known eBay sellers send me the wrong stuff and they exchanged it.
