These are shell, right? Maybe just CG? Numbering has been rubbed off.

Some examples of heel area repair by thread members tell us otherwise though
Heel repair? He's talking about cracks in the uppers. Heels do not FLEX. If you use a shoe horn, it will never give you an issue. there is no real solution to DRYNESS cracking on vamps.

If Alden makes a shoe for Brooks Brothers, they only show one width letter.
okay. Thanks. Brooks Brothers was used to use Peal & co + sometimes Edward Green for their upper level shoes.

Listen man, don't know about others, but I'm starting to get tired of your behaviour and dick swinging here. Your undoubted experience and great shoe collection cant be an excuse for such arrogance.

Its better to pay more attention to messages of other members if you wanna discuss them, especially that way

So instead of using capitals teaching me about heels and shoe horn, you'd better read this thread. Maybe you'll learn something new. For example, how to prolong life of your shell cordovan shoes with light cracks in heel area.

Yes and no. Yes to EG. Sort of/not really to Peal & Co... Peal & Co stopped manufacturing in 1965, which is when Brooks bought the Peal name and used the label on any English shoes they had made for themselves. According to wiki they've sold Cheaney & Sons, Church's, Edward Green, Crockett & Jones, Alfred Sargent, and Loake under the name Peal & Co.

What is "vintage"? from the 80's? 70's?

When I started the thread, I thought of the term "vintage" as defined on dictionary.Cambridge.org. They offer "produced in the past, and typical of the period in which it was made" or clothing "that is not new, especially when it is a good example of a style from the past." So, it is pretty loose and shall continue to be so.

Quick restoration on Ralph Lauren’s MiE shells. Brush, damp cloth, renomat, 2 coats of Lexol Neatsfoot over two days, Neutral Venetian Shoe Cream, cognac saphir cream (did not have shell cordovan brown). Sanded and applied brown edge dressing.
