Hanover LB Sheppard for their initial outing. @davidVC says "The LB Sheppard line appears to have ended in the 1980s and “Masterflex” or “Masterflex Signature” was used instead." Given that, I am estimating these are from around 1985. I have not seen anything about Hanover using codes for the date of production.

This is a little different from my normal post. These would likely be considered “vintage” by most. Although they are not 1960-1980’s. They are, however, the newest Florsheim I have.

NOS Florsheim LWB Horween Shell Cordovan in a color Florsheim called Scotch. A gorgeous shoe. Not as well made as the 93605 but not many modern shoes are.

Well he seems to be the only guy that'll actually replace footbeds so if you have some 35-45 year old shoes you want to be "like new" he's almost the only option. For that privilege you're looking at $350 and UP. New heel block, soles, upper cleaning and reconditioning and polishing, little fixes here and there, etc. Thank GOD the brown calf Florsheims came from eBay for under $50 ?. Note for a simple resole he starts at.... $160 I think.

I have a vintage Shell pair that will also probably be going to him too..... God help my wallet ?
My cheater move with footbeds is to find a deal on eBay etc of same vintage and maker in any size/style and swap out their heel pad with a better condition logo

I have handled some of the more "modern" shell Florsheims, still made with Horween, and I considered them to be very high quality. If I found a pair in my size I would snap them up.

I guess I haven't worn these Alden in a while. Dug them out for Jim Pietryka, who i believe was also a member of this board.

It makes me wonder how many fine pairs of vintage shell shoes end up getting tossed because people mistake the bloom for mold.

Yes, he was a member. Knowledgeable and stylish, always with an endearing smile

I posted these jodhpur boots on the AE thread. And then I realized that we might appreciate seeing these on this thread as well.

These are the Allen Edmonds St. George boot from the 1980s. They were originally a lighter color of tannish brown and I dyed them darker a few years ago.

No way!!! I wore mine today too! What are the chances?!
I like the color on yours. I’ve thought about doing a subtle patina on mine but I can’t bring myself to make the change.

Life's the same, I'm moving in stereo
Life's the same except for my shoes

Nice that the song has the word 'shoes' right there in the refrain. Kind of ties the whole experience together, does it not.

Heading out to lunch with an old friend who always dresses well. I elected to go with Royal Tweeds.
