Well... since you asked....The first 3 pics are from the e-bay ad. The last is after I cleaned the welt stiching which was black. Same shoes, different lighting.

How are there shoes that are over 50 years old and have never been worn???

@BlueMoonMonday I have never seen a NEW pair of 93602 that dark. I assume someone added some patina or darker polisj

Maiden voyage for the Florsheim Stratfords. The right shoe may need a bit of pinpoint stretching, but overall very happy with this pair!

The Stratford are on my list that I am still searching for. I like them in black and brown.

There is another similar style in Antique Brass that I would love to find.

Speaking of unusual colors/styles:

These Probably the rarest Vintage Florsheim I own.

1967 Florsheim Imperial SUEDE LWB

The style number starts with a dash —241. I have only heard of one other pair from @davidVC. He said he saw a pair that were light blue suede.

Today I picked up this pair of mid 1950's John McHale Custom shoes built for sale by Saks 5th Ave. The shoes that Scott McHale built for sale by Saks in New York, Owens-Elmes in Toronto and Ben B Berkes in Detroit all had subtle upgrades from the main Custom Grade line, and are the very best shoes that McHale built post 1950.

This pair has a nasty tear on the heel of the right shoe which is unfortunate. However i will send them to Gary Coakley In London Ontario. His shop is one short city block from the location of the factory in which these shoes were built. I will post better pictures and detail the repair work sometime early next year.

These shoes were built on a last I have not seen before with McHale. Quite an elegant toe. 9.5D.

How about another pair for Wingtip Wednesday.

I had to run a quick errand at lunch and figured I should not wear my house shoes. These Handsome LWB are always a reliable choice. Not fancy but still versatile.

I neglected to mention the fine patina work on the 93602 I posted was done by @Medicfourlife for the 2018 Shoe Challenge.

@smfdoc ,

What's your source for Collonil 1909? I just bought a couple colors from ebay for about $13 each - is that the going rate?

I get mine on Amazon and the price is similar. The neutral was $14.99.
