Vintage Dress shoe appreciation, tips, maintenance and advice

Allen Edmonds Polos in 8274 Black & Burgundy Polished Cobbler from 1984. Not a particularly rare model but it is a saddle spectator!
The sunlight in these pictures highlights the creases in the finish more than usual, they're much less noticeable in person. I think out of all of my shoes these have gotten the most compliments so I don't think people notice that very much.


I suspect these were factory recrafted at some point since the soles use a newer logo than the one found inside and are stamped with an R. At least I assume that's what the R stands for?

The date code implies these to have been made around February 20th 1984.

Presenting my best pair of GH, via a dear friend, along with my first pair of Alden Indys. They are both in minty condition, probably worn only a handful of times. Nothing but love!

LOL! Alright, since you called me out here... I hunted down the Concord listing. Did one of you guys buy these? I'm kind of astonished that they sold. I was nodding a bit initially feeling great about it and anxious to hit the buy button. But then I saw the neck around the heels and thought of @friendlygoz... and then... ooof.... the eyelet.... But they were only $210 so there's that. This might be the 1st 10E that I've seen but my enthusiasm quickly turned to heavy sadness. I can't find the 2nd pair right now.

Vintage rare Florsheim Imperial Concord 97604, 10 E | eBay

The HB date indicates 1971, as far as I know. These shoes have the double V cleat and 5 nail sole. The numbers above the model number are 366619 19. These shoes are USA made. A bit of wear shows on the back as shown in the photo.

Alden 780 Full Strap loafer is built on the Aberdeen last. The model has a black Calfskin leather upper with a single leather outsole.

Do you have a picture of the writing inside? Looking for the number that corresponds to 686 in these non-shell loafers. Yours do look like Alden shell.
