Yes, these are saddle oxfords. The definitions I have seen of "gunboat" for shoes seem to specify them to be longwing bluchers with an extra thick sole. Not sure how accurate that is but these being saddle shoes seems to exclude them from that. I think of them as gunboats anyways because they still have thick soles.I have some like those and and I think they're called saddle oxfords.
Here's a pair of 1940s C.H. Baker spectators I was wearing recently. View attachment 1687183 View attachment 1687184 View attachment 1687185 View attachment 1687186
You have some pretty fantastic pairs, so do people on the street ever comment on your shoes? Here's a pair of 1940s C.H. Baker spectators I was wearing recently. View attachment 1687183 View attachment 1687184 View attachment 1687185 View attachment 1687186

Well, that's good. I don't think I could do spectators myself, but they certainly look good. People ought to notice them. Carry on amazing the crowdsActually pretty often, yeah. Especially when I’m wearing spectators.
I actually tend to go fairly conservative with the suit, solid blues, grays, and charcoals. Since my shoes are often so bold, I try to keep it court appropriate with a less bold suit.I'd love to see the suit combinations you have with your shoes. I assume a lot of lighter colours? And maybe pin stripes?
