Black shell AE Leeds arrived today (black insole leeds (see what I did there) me to believe they are from the late 2000s). These are my first pair of black shell. They are in superb condition. I may put grommets in them and covert the edges to natural. I’m also trying some sun fading to see if I can bring out the brown and green undertones. That part of the tinkering may be in vain, but we shall see.

Recently I decided to sell/gift 3 pairs of shoes that don't fit that well or don't make it into my rotation. So there's an empty shelf in my shoe shelf. And now promptly the 3 pair deficit has closed to 1.

AE Belmont in sharkskin on the way.

And this pair of Florsheim NST. I have same pair in 9.5D that actually fit well. Though I am 8.5eee, I can also fit 9E and 9.5D for vintage Florsheim.

Opening bid of $50 plus seller mislabeled as model 300582. Once I scrolled through pics I knew what they are. Rebuilt already and looks decent. French binding needs replacement. Size 9E.

I forgot about my bid and this morning I had an ebay invoice waiting for me. I will be sending these to Andrew Morden to rebuild. He revived my other pair so he'll know how to handle this one. I'm also sending him a pair of boots for wedge soles.

Just yesterday spousal customs and I booked a time with a banker to discuss investing some of our covid savings into higher interest accounts. I guess some of those savings have now been invested into my shoe collection. Rate of return is better than any interest rate, right?

Mason Imperial shoes in calf are seen occasionally on the thread, but they also dipped their toes into the shell pool. They made a brown shell LWB. The LWB was great and I managed to find a NOS pair. Style number 301.

They also made a PTB, style #300. I have never seen a pair of them until today. This pair popped up on Ebay in 11D, link. They still have original soles and heels. Photos here since they are so rare.

Nice score. I had my eye on those. One thing I wonder about is whether the toe seam is off-center on the right shoe. Something looks a little bit asymmetrical. I’m not trying to throw a wet blanket on your happiness, but take a look.

Definitely off centre. I saw it, but figured I'm only out $50 if it fries my nerves.

Recently I was wearing these custom order 1958 Florsheim Spectators. Unfortunately, the heel leather on the right show rotted around the nails and started to crumble so I'll need to get new heels on them. I don't have a local cobbler that I trust with a shoe this special, so If anyone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate it.

It’s hot today. Going with no-show socks and these early 1990s Florsheim PBTs.
