I check eBay incessantly. It’s borderline weird. I’m sure you have my idea what I’m talking about. So Saturday I decide that I’m going to leave my phone alone and get some stuff done around the house. I did. And these these sold. In 9 mins. In my size. That should teach me to abandon my obsession, even for a day.
**** like this is highly demoralizing. Almost more demoralizing than picking the wrong line at the grocery store.

Formal (black-tie) event tonight, but no patience to haul extra shoes around the city, so these Carlyle’s will have to do double duty:

Christ, I haven't been to a black tie event for about 20 years. I don't even know if cummerbunds are still en vogue these days.

Perfect shoe for black tie wear, imo. I intensely dislike traditional formal shoes. This is much better. Glad to see that you stepped up your sock game for the occasion. ;)

Dexter fits TTS for me. These get lots of wear. A cobbler recently added sole protectors and new top lifts.

Speaking of Florsheim Yumas… alligator Yumas, anyone? Wow. These are rare. I’m talking’ a pink unicorn that spits fine wine.

Wow, those are pretty amazing. I’m glad they are not in my size as that would cause me to really consider how much money I’m willing to spend on a pair of shoes.

I ride my bike early every morning in the hills around my house. Lately mountain lions have been killing and eating deer unusually close to us, including one instance I rolled by a couple of weeks ago, about a hundred yards from this very spot. So I keep my eyes peeled.

But today something else caught my eye. See it?

Well that kind of luck deserved to be parlayed into something bigger, so I headed down to my local before hitting the grocery store just now and thrifted these AE McClains:

Not Cambridges, not vintage and not shell but they should do OK. And I managed to avoid being attacked by a crazy cougar. Which has happened before. Can’t get into it here but you know what I mean. 12D BTW.

If anyone else told this story I’d doubt the veracity. But coming from you it’s completely believable. Congrats.

You know it. And this is a separate incident to the one I mentioned above. Only or so three miles apart and the one below is just a mile and a half from my house. Yikes.

And the other kind of cougar once could be easily found down at the Rosewood. Not sure if it's still a thing, but I have seen this with my own eyes back in the day. Thursday nights used to be the night.
