If you wait for a couple more years, only Vintage dress shoe you will find is Hush Puppies. Why let down your obsession? How do you find all these old shoes? Wait. Don’t tell me. I have a Enough of an obsession already
Are all canadian made Florsheims mchale made?
Coincidentally, my bison leather PTDs that I happened to be wearing today are miCanada Florsheim Imperials. I don't know who made them for Florsheim, but they are significantly different in build quality compared to my John McHale LWBs. Anything is possible, but I would be surprised if they came out of the same factory.
I didn't snap photos today, but here is an older photo.

This pair is definitely made by McHale. The lettering and sole give it away. These were likely made in the dying days when Florsheim was trying to cut costs at the Canadian factory. And as we all know, once costs are chopped, the end is near.
No idea. But looks older with that script and arch!I've heard of "Cole Haan" and "Cole-Haan, "but "Cole & Haan" is new to me. Anyone have any info?

Here's another new addition to my collection. These are 1950s Florsheim not quite longwing ventilated spectators. They have a lot of miles on them, but the uppers are still in pretty good shape. View attachment 1542362 View attachment 1542363 View attachment 1542364 View attachment 1542365
Yes, you can do a water bath on those shoes. I have done it before on that same shoe. However, I think most of the change would be seen in the uppers as opposed to the sole. If it really bothers you, it can be tried.
This marked the genesis of the most sought after vintage vendor. I’m 9.5D, kind sir. Here's something special I picked up. These are 1940s Cole Haan true spade soles in unworn condition. These are unbelievably well made and would be a grail shoe for me if they were my size. They were listed way too cheap on ebay so I picked them up to resell. The only downside is they're a tough size 8.5B. View attachment 1543397 View attachment 1543398 View attachment 1543399 View attachment 1543400
